2026 Residents: Sage Jeehee Kang & Minjung Lee



Sage Jeehee Kang is a visual artist residing in New York with her husband and two sons. Her recent body of work consists of an exploration into the environments and materiality of transience, viewed through the lens of her identity as part of the Korean diaspora. Originating from a personal diasporic perspective, her work expands into spiritual inquiries directed at all human beings in their finitude. While her practice primarily centers on painting and drawing, she also incorporates mixed media. Sage received her MFA in Visual Arts from School of Visual Arts in 2014 and her BFA in Fashion Design from Dong-Duk Women's University in South Korea.

Minjung Lee is a South Korean artist based in Brooklyn, New York. She creates theatrical trompe loeil sculptures to examine the blurred boundary between the physical world and the dimension of the mind. Her work seeks to locate an authentic sense of self roaming between the realms of memory and amnesia, dreaming and waking, as she reclaims hand drawing at the center of her practice-an ancient human instinct to search and remember. She earned her BFA in Sculpture from Seoul National University, Seoul, and her MFA in Sculpture from Slade School of Fine Art, UCL, London. She has had solo exhibitions at Ortega y Gasset Projects, Brooklyn, Brooklyn Art Cluster, Brooklyn and Alternative Space Noon, Suwon, Korea. She attended Joshua Tree Highlands Residency. Her work has been exhibited in Massachusetts, New Jersey, London, and Seoul, and featured in Maake Magazine, Sand Journal, Young Space Views and Manifest International Drawing Annual.
